Non-Traditional Midwife Making Changes with Military & Civilian Access to Maternity Care

Non-Traditional Midwife Making Changes with Military & Civilian Access to Maternity Care

September 27, 2022

Michelle Munro, CNM in Savannah, GA has been doing great things for midwifery the last 30yrs and isn't stopping in retirement changing that momentum.  After retiring from 28.5yrs of military service including being the only CNM hospital CEO that I am aware of, she is now fighting in her own state for better birth outcomes with improved regulations and women advocacy resources.  She ran for Congress, started a non-profit organization, and working towards opening birth center in GA.  Michelle is a woman not to tell you can't do something!   Great interview and look forward to seeing what she accomplishes the next few years.

Making a BIG IMPACT in Midwifery Last 50yrs with Dr Lonnie Morris, CNM

September 13, 2022

This was a real treat of an interview to learn about all the things that Lonnie Morris, CNM has been doing for midwifery in NY and NJ last 50yrs!  She has fought for better birth outcomes with her practice. Sued multiple entities restricting midwifery practicing rights and continues to have high energy to keep expanding access to midwifery in her community.  She is looking for 2 great midwives to join their team with the ever-growing demand for their practice's high-quality care. Definitely an interview you don't want to miss!

Full Scope Midwifery Care Offered at a Well Established Federally Qualified Health Center

September 6, 2022

It was a great interview with 6 CNMs that work at a well-established Federally Qualified Health Center (center been open 50yrs with midwives available last 20yrs) in Nebraska.  The team talks about their strengths and challenges that they support each other through last few years.  We go into what are the benefits of being midwives at FQHC facilities, full scope midwifery model of care being implemented regularly, and comradery of team to support each other through thick and thin situations.  Really enjoyed this interview.

They are currently recruiting for another amazing midwife to join their team!

HIPAA Compliance Standards Talk with Jake & Amanda

HIPAA Compliance Standards Talk with Jake & Amanda

June 22, 2022

We have found an EXCELLENT connection for any small business owning needing to staying HIPAA compliant in an affordable, simple way where there are personalized experts minutes away to talk with about unique situations arising or wondering about.  Jake Fisher with Accountable HQ has been a great business referral resource that Amanda Wylie has connected me with.

We spent today's talk going over common questions about which business software can be used and what can be placed in them if not HIPAA compliant platforms.  Particularly Amanda and I get frequent questions about QuickBooks and what can and can't be done in it.  Jake sets everything straight and encourage every midwife and birth worker to connect with him for a 30min zoom call to learn more about their products and what the HIPAA compliance standards on now (changed DRASTICALLY after 2013).
